Singapore National Day Parade 2015

The Singapore National Day Parade is held every year since 1966 on August 9, in commemoration of Singapore's independence.

The theme for the 2013 edition was "Many Stories… One Singapore", aiming to revisit Singapore strength, spirit and uniqueness by gathering the stories of thousand individuals linked to the history and life of the young but powerful nation of Singapore.

Many events are programmed throughout the day: the pre-parade on a carnival style with games, songs, performances and a showcase of the nation’s defense capabilities, the parade & ceremony with the march of the defense forces and the show that celebrates the uniqueness of Singaporeans through a variety show that will feature nine story segments centered on the themes of Play, Build, Engage, Remember, Represent, Embrace, Respect, Love and Party. The show will finish with astonishing fireworks and national anthem.

This year’s highlights of the parade include an aerial flypast by the RSAF, performing a salute to the nation in celebration of their 45th anniversary. Also vowing the audience will be the crowd favorites such as the 21-Gun Salute, the flypast of the Chinook with the State Flag and the Feu de Joie.
