Singapore Dragon Boat Festival 2015

International crews will pilot dragon headed boats to compete against each other on the Debok Reservoir. Dragon boat teams consist of 20 rowers, 1 drummer and 1 steerer who will pit their impressive skills against one another for 800 meters in search of the ultimate fame. Coming originally from China, dragon boats races have their roots in an ancient folk ritual of villagers held over the past 2000 years in southern China. The boats flow magically on the river at the speed of their heartbeat inflated by the drummer.

The Dragon boats race is now a cultural festival, alongside the reservoir, tradionnal rituals and festive activities will be held. Sports lovers will be delighted to discover a new kind of vigorous sport full of actions and very entertaining to watch.

Join the cheerful spectacle in the definitely Asian atmosphere!
